Don Harper
					
					Don 
					Harper, of Channel Drive, past president of the Pine Lake 
					Association, keeper of the alligators in alligator alley, 
					and great friend, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016 while 
					at home working in his yard. Please keep his wife Chris and 
					their family in your thoughts and prayers.
					
					Donald was born on June 20, 1944, the son of the late 
					Claude Eugene Harper and Wilda Elizabeth (Parker) Harper. He 
					served his country in the United States Army as a chaplain. 
					He graduated from Southern Illinois University in 
					Carbondale. He retired from the Upjohn Company after 18 
					years of service. He attended First United Methodist Church 
					of Plainwell. He belonged to the American Legion, Veterans 
					of Foreign Wars and the American Chemical Society. Among his 
					hobbies, he especially enjoyed boating. He was a loving 
					husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with 
					his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Chris Harper; 
					three children, Anita (Leonard) Joiner, Elizabeth (Michael 
					Ferguson) Pierce and Jeremy (Gail) Harper; seven 
					grandchildren, Sloane Harper, Bobby Elaman, Alanna Elaman, 
					Natalie Pierce, Jacob Harper, Alex Pierce and Zoe Pierce; 
					one brother, William (Cynthia) Harper and one sister, 
					Patricia Harper; many nieces and nephews and many Pine Lake
